Network for Good Combines Online Fundraising and Volunteering

There is a vast variety of online fundraising and volunteer resources now available to nonprofits and I’ve previously written about many them here on the Miratel blog. These platforms create opportunities for nonprofits that may not otherwise be available to them through the use of social and other technologies. Sites like CovergeUS, Razoo, Give2gether, Kickstarter, Kiva City, Givmo, Broadcause, Startsomegood, Donorschoose and FirstGiving serve to increase the reach of online fundraising for nonprofits while sites like  Idealist and Catchafire helps to build its skill and volunteer base. Then there is Network For Good which manages to do both and quite well I might add.

Launched over 10 years ago out of Maryland U.S. by founding partners AOL LLC, Cisco Systems Inc, Time Warner Foundation and Yahoo!, Network For Good is a platform that makes donating and volunteering easy and maintains its affordability for nonprofits of all sizes.  Known as the internet’s leading charitable giving resource that matches people with charities, Network for Good provides various fundraising tools, facilitates online fundraising and provides research and volunteering opportunities.  To date over $530 million in donations have been processed to support more than 60,000 charities and provided more than 200,000 volunteering opportunities since Network for Good’s inception.

Nonprofits can manage their online fundraising campaigns end-to-end through a customized nonprofit page.  They can also reach out to donors through an online emailing feature for newsletters and fundraising appeals to engage and build relationships with their supporters.  The platform also provides an online event management service where nonprofits can create an event page, invite supporters and sell tickets, as well as collect additional donations.  With the use of social media on the rise, Network for Good has also incorporated a connection to Facebook where charities can start building their community of supporters.  Nonprofits can also benefit from the free weekly webinars that provide strategic and practical tips on fundraising and marketing, as well as the networking opportunities of connecting with peers and build a stronger network.

Donors can make gifts to any of 1.2 million listed charities, keep track of their donation history, flag charities as favorites and at tax time easily find their donating records all stored in one place making giving easy and convenient.  In addition to standard one time gifts, donors can also set up reoccurring monthly donations and promote their nonprofit with a ‘Charity Badge’, which can encourage the donors’ network of family, friends and colleagues to also support the cause.

Network For Good also sells “The Good Card”, a notably wonderful concept which works exactly like a regular gift card, only the recipient can apply the card as a donation to their charity of choice powered by Guidestar and VolunteerMatch. A great concept with vast appeal.

Network for Good also provides customized solutions to accommodate corporate partners and sponsors.  With the increasing interest in CSR business policies, more and more corporations are participating in a variety of philanthropic initiatives and organizations that have benefited from Network for Good’s cause marketing solutions include: Crowd Rise, Jumo, Capital One Giving Site and Johnson & Johnson.

Nonprofits that may not have the in-house resources can and should take advantage of these tools to increase the exposure and reach of their cause. With a return of $25 for every $1 invested in Network for Good, nonprofits can benefit greatly from this platform to engage supporters and execute a very successful online fundraising or volunteer recruitment campaign.
