Global influence is something that can impact a city and help build and solidify its reputation. As a proud Toronto call centre we had a vested interest in seeing how influential our city was when ranked internationally. Today we’ll be adding the 10 Most Influential Cities list published by Forbes, a respected publication in the business world and a “leading source for reliable business news and financial information” in print and online.
When compiling this list, the factors Forbes considered included “the amount of foreign direct investment they have attracted; the concentration of corporate headquarters; how many particular business niches they dominate; air connectivity (ease of travel to other global cities); strength of producer services; financial services; technology and media power; and racial diversity.” According to their findings, the world’s most influential cities are:

Of Toronto’s three-way tie for 10th Forbes said, “as the economic capital of Canada, [Toronto] has becomes a focus for international investment into that stable and resource rich country. It is also among the most diverse cities on the planet — 46 % of its population is foreign born.” This demonstrates that Toronto has grown in global prominence thanks to its healthy economics and cultural diversity. #gottalovetoronto
