An invitation to take part in a crucial nonprofit fundraising survey
Much of what we’re able to learn about trends in the world of nonprofit fundraising is derived from one of two sources; either industry experts provide their predictive analysis based on a Nostradamus-like venture into the world of charitable organizations or we rely upon an ever-increasing wealth of surveys and research. Regular readers of this blog will know that I often delve into surveys and case studies that both gauge recent donor behavior but also try and assess just what the future might bring. It’s an exciting time for nonprofits as the emergence of social media and new technology allows organisations to diversify and better engage with their donors whilst at the same time most (I hesitate to say all) experts are in agreement that a slow but steady return to a healthier economic outlook is in place which naturally benefits continued growth of nonprofits.
While I frequently write about the results of nonprofit fundraising surveys and research I rarely see one of the most important ones seeking input from the nonprofit sector, thus I was excited to see a new survey looking for opinions; both yours and mine.
NTEN, Common Knowledge and Blackbaud are inviting you to spend a few minutes taking part in a new survey about nonprofits which looks at how the industry is currently using online social networking to grow their donor base and interact more efficiently. Both topics are near and dear to my heart so I’ve taken part already. The survey process will take you about 10 minutes and poses questions about your use as a fundraiser of social networks including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. You can even enter your details to take part in a drawing for an Apple iPad. In turn, the collated results will be part of a presentation at the NTEN Nonprofit Technology Conference in which will take place in Washington DC on March 17-19, 2011. Please find more details about this event here.
Once you complete the survey you will also automatically receive a copy of the fundraising report when it is released. Of course I’ll be writing about the findings of the study which I hope will include input from some of you reading this post. NTEN and Blackbaud guarantee that confidentiality of survey participants is assured and that all replies will be anonymous.
