TIFF 2012 Celebrities and the Causes They Support Part 2
In anticipation of the start of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) which began yesterday, I wrote a post on how this time of year is also becoming known as a festival of fundraising. I also began Part 1 of a post that I am continuing today on some of the philanthropic efforts of the stars attending TIFF 2012. I have featured the charitable connection of the famous before in posts such as the 10 Most Charitable Celebrities from the 2012 Oscar Nominees, the 10 Top Forbes Power Celebrities and the Charities They Support, the 10 Highest Paid Celebrities from Forbes Under 30 List and their Philanthropic Efforts, 10 Top Celebrity Charitable Contributions Based on Publicity Value, the 10 Highest Paid Actors from Forbes List and their Charities and 5 of the Highest Paid Celebrity Couples and Their Charitable Associations.
Once again, with the help of Look to the Stars, we’ll see how theses TIFF celebrities add up when it comes to supporting nonprofits.
- Ryan Gosling. The gorgeous Canadian actor is bringing his gorgeousness to TIFF with the film The Place Beyond the Pines. When he is not stopping fights in the streets of NYC, he support nonprofits such as Invisible Children, PETA, SickKids Foundation, ENOUGH Project and Silverlake Conservatory of Music.
- Ralph Fiennes who is screening the film Great Expectations at TIFF has supported charities such as ACAP, Artists Against Racism, Constant Gardener Trust, Environmental Investigation Agency, Raisa Gorbachev Foundation, UNICEF and WildAid.
- Selena Gomez, the former Disney darling and pop star, has two films being featured at the festival including Spring Breakers and Hotel Transylvania. She has also supported many nonprofit organizations like A Day Made Better, ENOUGH Project, Ryan Seacrest Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and UNICEF.

- Kate Hudson is bringing the film The Reluctant Fundamentalist to Tiff. Kate Hudson has supported various nonprofits including Donate Life America, Healthy Child Healthy World, Last Chance for Animals, Red Cross and WildAid.
Snoop Lion, formerly known as Snoop Dogg, will be attending TIFF with Reincarnated. Snoop has supported many nonprofits including 21st Century Leaders, Habitat For Humanity, Live Earth, Mission Australia, MusiCares, Orca Network, Save a Life Foundation, Save The Music Foundation, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Snoop Youth Football League, The Healing Circle and Whatever It Takes.

The British star has supported charities like Education Africa, Greenpeace, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Make Poverty History, Music For Tomorrow, Only Make Believe, Peace One Day, Rhys Daniels Trust, Variety Club, WAVE Trauma Centre and Willow Foundation.
Highlighting the philanthropy of these stars participating in TIFF just reaffirms the fundraising spirit of TIFF. Celebrities have the ability to inspire others and raise awareness for causes that are meaningful to them and these are just a few examples of stars doing just that.
