Our top 5 professional fundraising related blogs from 2011:
1st 10 Top Lessons Learned From Thirty Years of Professional Fundraising Experience was based on a seminar the writer attended at the AFP Toronto Congress 2011 given by Guy Mallabone called ‘Top 10 Lessons Learned From Thirty Years of Fund Development Experience’. Mallabone is a consultant for the nonprofit sector and was recently named 2011 AFP Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the AFP Calgary Chapter. Guy has worked with SAIT Polytechnic, University of Alberta, Canadian Red Cross Society and Calgary Chamber of Commerce. His presentation was packed full of useful tips acquired from an impressive thirty years in professional fundraising.
2nd Millennial Donors Report on Nonprofit Fundraising Trends Part 2 was the second part of a 2 part blog post which focussed specifically on the Millennial donor (between 20-35 years of age) and what influences their giving and volunteering decisions. The second half of this important report’s results lend greater insight into this interesting (and growing) demographic and explored how to motivate, reach and engage them.
3rd Benchmark Report Measures Traditional and Online Fundraising Methods released by Target Analytics, a Blackbaud company. This report reflects multi-channel donors who make donations through both traditional methods like direct mail and via newer technological methods such as online giving. The 2011 donorCentrics™ Internet and Multichannel Giving Benchmarking Report covers analysis on 28 self-selected participating national nonprofit organizations. In general these organizations have larger online programs and dedicated resources compared to other nonprofits similar in size and sector and they have a keen interest in online fundraising.
4th Economy Still Impacting Charitable and Online Giving Per Blackbaud Index. The Blackbaud Index is released monthly and compiles overall fundraising statistical information from 1,276 nonprofit organizations with combined revenue of $2.3 billion. In addition, the Blackbaud Index analyzes online donation trends amongst 1,780 nonprofit organizations with combined revenue of $426 million. According to this report released in October 2011, the state of the economy was still impacting nonprofits in the amount of donations they are receiving. We look forward to reading Blackbaud Index results in 2012.
5th Nonprofit Fundraising and the Dynamics of Cause Engagement was based on a study of interest to nonprofits called Dynamics of Cause Engagement developed by Georgetown University’s Center for Social Impact Communication in conjunction with Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. The study was based on a survey of a representative sample of 2,000 adult Americans (18 years of age and over) and was performed in late 2010. Separated into six sections, this study focussed on giving trends as well as the strengths of various engagement channels.

Thanks for these. Some new resources for me.
Just to be picky though, this are a list of blog *posts*, not blogs. A blog is surely a collection of blog posts. Your title suggests that you have chosen five different blogs, whereas the content is a list of five blog posts on your single blog.
You are right Howard. Sorry about that. I actually deliberated between blog or post and I figured blog made the most universal sense but now I’m thinking blog post would have made better sense.
