Top 10 Companies with the Most Employees
One of the challenges in call centers is the large number of employees (and different personalities) you have to manage to achieve customer performance and quality objectives. Once you understand that establishing rapport, accountability and respect are essential, it’s less of a challenge and you start seeing results from your team. I thought of some of the large companies out there and pondered how many employees they have on the payroll.
Here are the top 10 companies with most employees:
- Walmart, USA (Retail) – 1,800,000 employees
- Indian Railways (Rail services) – 1,600,000 employees
- China National Petroleum, China (Oil and gas) – 1,090,232 employees
- State Grid, China (Electric power) – 844,031 employees
- US Postal Service, USA (Mail) – 803,000 employees
- Sinopec, China (Oil and gas) – 730,800 employees
- Deutsche Post, Germany (Post and courier) – 502,545 employees
- Agricultural Bank of China, China (Banking) – 478,895 employees
- UES (Unified Energy System), Russia (Electric power) – 461,200 employees
- Siemens, Germany (Electronics) – 461,000 employees

Not surprising that Walmart tops the list with over 7000 stores in 14 countries. With the volume of transactions they handle, they would need a ton of employees to service so many countries and widespread locations. Although China makes the list more than once, they don’t make the grade for the Top 10 Global Companies By Revenue, which we’ll report on next. Stay tuned.
